And you have to do some work, but what a job it is! Murphy-Goode Winery has come up with one of the most interesting marketing campaigns I've seen in years. They can't take all the credit, Dave Ready Jr, winemaker, says they got the idea from a marketing campaign in Queensland, Australia. SFGate.com has the story.
A "Really Goode Job" includes accommodations in a house in Healdsburg, CA, $10,000 a month for six months and pretty much all the wine you can drink, so to speak. Murphy-Goode is looking for someone who "knows how to use Web 2.0 and Facebook and blogs and social media and YouTube and all sorts of good stuff like that - to tell the world about our wines and the place where we live: the Sonoma County wine country", to quote their website.
This two-month campaign will wrap up June 5th and they're expecting to receive as many as 10,000 applications. Each potential "wine country correspondent" must fill out an employment application and upload a one minute video that details unique qualifications for the position. At the close of the application process, 50 top candidates will be selected, it will then be narrowed down to the final 10. The announcement of the winning applicant will be on July 9th, so get those videos in today! The job will start August 1st, just in time for harvest.
All interested parties 21 and older can apply by going to www.areallygoodejob.com.
