The smoky skies are still with us, with many fires burning in California at the present time. This week, we had some excessive heat, temperatures in the 100 - 104 degree range for the first three days. Yesterday, it dropped down to 90 degrees, which seemed almost cool compared to earlier. It's supposed to remain around 90 degrees for the next five days, which is actually livable.
The grape clusters seemed to be even larger and fuller than before. Chardonnay is one of the first varietals to ripen, one of the first to be harvested, so this makes perfect sense. To get a close up view of the grapes, click on the picture below.
